Summer is almost over…

Here I am in San Jose, taking advantage of the free wireless at the airport while I wait to fly out to Las Vegas. I’ll be playing with Sean and Sara Watkins at the MAGIC fashion convention, in the new green/eco pavillion. It should be a bizzare and enjoyable trip. I even trimmed my nose hair in deference to the art of grooming and couture.

We said goodbye to summer vacation by taking a little road trip, starting with Sara W’s wedding in Vista (yay!), then heading up to Placerville for a few days of creekdipping. It’s been a good trip. The girls will be starting school next week, and I’ll be playing a handful of Toad shows before coming home for some recording in September. Then it’s off on the road with Jonatha Brooke. And so on.

What else is there…I dunno. I realize it’s been a while since I’ve posted. I’ve been enjoying ignoring my solo career, I think. Right now I’m most focused on getting the (still sadly nameless) band record out, finishing up the Plover and RemoteTreeChildren projects, and doing some spec scoring work in hopes that I can land a job writing for a TV series. Still, it’s been great to go out and play some solo shows, and I’m hoping to get together some touring with the (still sadly nameless) band in the new year.

So there you have it: an update.

  • I’m looking forward to the JB&GP show in Portland, OR. It seems so far away…

Perhaps you can have a contest to help pick a band name…

    I’m JUST saying…

Also…could I add (or beg) – LOUISVILLE, LOUISVILLE, LOUISVILLE!! Puh-lease!! One of the things that I miss about the bay area is being able to see your shows…and the Toad shows.

Thank you for the update! Best wishes for happy travels and good shows. Please let us know if Seattle gets added to the fall tour for the week of Election Day! I can think of few people with whom I’d like to celebrate the end of the Bush Administration more than you.

I really enjoyed the Lodi show. Thanks for doing some shows closer to my home (I drove down from Sac). Although I’ll still trek out to the Bay Area for a show, I’m getting older (sigh) and am grateful when I don’t have to drive as far!

Also enjoyed the Lodi show. I’m glad you do what you do. (Also: What a lovely room.) Thanks. :)

And during that time! sarkosy crazy shit in Europe (President of France, a small dog bush and unfortunately predict the European Union for a few months yet) and ridiculed in Europe face a Russia with the problem Georgian! sorry for this news !.. but sometimes is important to know !…

  • I was going to comment “Fashion convention! Free socks! Woohoo!”

But then I read the comment above mine, and it didn’t seem appropriate. Can we make levity appropriate again?
