Fire Update

I’ve been getting lots of calls and emails about the Tea Fire near my house. We’re just a few blocks from the mandatory evacuation area, and updates on that will depend on today’s winds. A group of evacuated friends spent the night with us yesterday, and a some of them have definitely lost their homes. The fire has torn a big hole in our community, but people are doing well considering their losses.

Our house is adjacent to a staging area, so we won’t get too worried unless we hear all the firetrucks moving out.

Thanks so much for the concern and good wishes.

Been thinking a lot about you and your family and friends since I heard about the fire. (And the glass table incident, too.) Be safe, be of good cheer, and be well!

  • Sean:

I’m glad you and yours are safe, and you’re able to help your neighbors.

  • Oh carpenter, help build us a home, true of line, pure of form
With room for any who should come to stay…

How apropos…once again, Glen proves he has a song for every situation. :)

    We’re pulling for you!

Hey Glen, my thoughts are with you and your family, and friends and neighbors.
I am down in San Diego (we have met a few times way back when) and have gone through this twice (though not evacuated) but many friends and family were, and my work was shut down for a week as it was rght next to the big fires we most recently had!
Stay positive, and make sure everyone is safe!

Hey Glen, I have been thinking about you and everyone down there since the fires started. I hope you and your family stay safe! I was just catching up on some of your blog news and your little accident with the glass table reminds me of when we did Royal Blue Review and you planted your hand on that nail that was in the table and just kept going with the skit. Accident prone, I don’t know, you definately keep rolling with the punches though! Thanks for your still great humor and great music. Hope to hear good news on the fires very soon!

  • Hey Glen —
I remember covering those huge blazes when I worked for the Ventura County Star. I’m happy to hear you are near the staging area — often the safest place to be — and am thinking good thoughts for those who have been impaced by the fire.

On a happier note, I put tix to TTWS’s gig at Webster Hall in NYC on my Christmas wishlist. Hope to see you then.
    Take good care,
    Kara
