Lethal home alarm from Afghani Maker

This article was on the NPR home page this morning. An inventor in Afghanistan has made a home alarm that allows him to talk to people who approach his home via cell phone, and remotely open fire on them with a Kalishnikov if he deems it necessary. He’s also apparently developed a car alarm that will deliver a non-lethal but unpleasant shock to would-be thieves. If this were in the States, I’d feel judgmental, all my liberal hackles would up. Perhaps it’s the lack of personal proximity, but I find myself amused and exhilarated…

Afghan inventor Hanif Molavizadeh
